The third and final Royal Thai Army (RTA) Airbus Defence & Space C-295W ‘23221’ routed via Malta yesterday evening whilst on its delivery flight to the Thai Army. The RTA currently operate two C-295W serials ‘16150’ and ‘19160’. The C-295W is the latest variant of the C-295 military transport aircraft which is being manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space. The new aircraft is equipped with winglets and upgraded engines to deliver improved performance.
The new generation C-295W can be deployed in defense, homeland security, surveillance and humanitarian missions involving troops and cargo transport, air-dropping and in the correct configuration can be used for communication and logistics support, anti-submarine and surface warfare, airborne early warning, maritime surveillance, and medical evacuation.
