Yesterday afternoon, an A330-243MRTT with serial ‘T-058’ belonging to the Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport Fleet (MMF) operated by the Royal Netherlands Air Force performed a short stop in Malta during a navigational training flight. It is the third airframe to visit LMML following ‘T-055’ and ‘T-057’.
Ultimately, the MMF fleet will consist of nine Multi-role tanker transport aircraft able to provide strategic transport, air-to-air refueling and medical evacuation capabilities to its six participating nations (Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Norway). The aircraft are owned by NATO and managed by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) with the support of the Organization for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR). Five aircraft will be based in Eindhoven, and four will be based in Cologne.
