French Air Force A330

French Air Force Airbus A330-243 ‘1608/ F-UJCS’ spotted by one of our members yesterday afternoon at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport.

The French Air and Space Force received its first of two slightly A330-200 in the colours of the French Republic at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport on November 26, 2020. The French Air Force will initially use them for government flight services before being converted, along with an additional new-build aircraft, to MRTT tanker configuration.

This acquisition of three A330-200s by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, under the aerospace support plan announced by the government on June 9, 2020, will allow the Air and Space Force to accelerate the withdrawal from service of the two aging A310s and the two A340s of the 3/60 “Estérel” transport squadron (which were withdrawn from service at the end of December 2020), used for logistics missions, carrying both personnel and freight. These three planes will be operated from their main operating base at Paris – Roissy (Charles de Gaulle).
