BAF C-130H returns to LMML

Following an absence of more than 4 years, this afternoon a Belgian Air Force C-130H Hercules ‘CH-12’ landed at LMML for a night stop before its continues its journey to the middle east.

The Belgian Air Force Fleet of C-130H Hercules is soon going to be retired hence this visit was welcome as it might be one of the last opportunities to see an active Belgian Air Force C-130H in service before cargo ops are transferred to the Airbus A400M. It is estimated that a total of 6 airframes including CH-12 currently remain in service out of a total of 13 that have operated for Belgium since 1972.

The remaining aircraft serve with 20 Tactical Airlift Squadron at Melsbroek, Belgium.
