Gabriel is back!

French Air Force Transall C-160G Gabriel ‘F221’ today in Malta for a fuel stop. F221/GS is part of L’Escadron Électronique Aéroporté 00.054 ‘Dunkerque’ based at Base Áerienne 105 Evreux/Fauville.

The C-160G is a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) mission aircraft which the French Air Force currently operates two of the type, with the second having serial F216/GT which visited Malta in December 2019. The two C-160Gs are expected to be replaced by the Falcon 8X ‘Archange’ in 2025. The aircraft will fly alongside two Beech 350 special missions aircraft.
